Critical remote dispatch and control sites (such as subways, airports, military installations) often require extremely high system reliability. In such scenarios, services are frequently transmitted over two or more transport networks (e.g., leased channels from China Unicom and China Mobile, or satellite and terrestrial networks used as mutual backups). User terminals need a device capable of automatically selecting a healthy transport network and channel.

Some critical remote dispatch and control sites (e.g., subways, airports, military installations) require extremely high system reliability. In such cases, services are often transmitted over two or more transport networks—such as leased channels from China Unicom and China Mobile, or satellite and terrestrial networks used as mutual backups. User terminals therefore require a device capable of automatically selecting a healthy transport network and channel.

The IDM series supports multi-path transmission and active path optimization for E1 channels, telephone channels, pure audio channels, and RS232/RS485 channels.

The IDM Voice_DUP telephone channel mutual backup switching device enables one audio channel to be split into two transmission paths (cascading supports additional paths). At the remote end, the device automatically detects the quality of these transmission links and selects the one with the best performance. This ensures uninterrupted service in the event of transmission path failure or equipment malfunction.

The audio transmission path switcher monitors signal levels in the transmission path, uses time synchronization and content comparison to verify voice channel integrity, and determines the completeness of the voice transmission.

Additionally, the audio channel mutual backup switching device can function as an audio line monitoring terminal at the remote end, capable of reporting monitoring data as an IoT endpoint.

Automatic switching, network management switching, and manual switching are indicated by mode indicator lights on the panel. Switching modes can be configured via network management or controlled by a mode switch button on the panel.

The IDM Voice_DUP is available in both desktop and centralized models. The desktop model provides four sets of Voice mutual backup channel selectors. Four DIP switches on the device control manual switching for channels 1 to 4. Manual switching is only permitted when the manual switching indicator light is illuminated.

The centralized model adopts a 3U rack-mounted architecture with a unified Ethernet network management board, dual power supply units in mutual backup, and centralized monitoring and switching of voice channels via network management. Switching conditions are configurable via network management, supporting automatic switching, or manual forced switching via network management or DIP switches. Manual switching has higher priority.
