I. Overview

The IDM MINICP equipment is a new-generation multi-service optical transmission/access device based on SDH technology, launched by Beijing Raytrans Digital Technology Co., Ltd. It integrates three technologies — SDH transmission, PBX switching, and all-optical Ethernet switching — into one platform, and incorporates audio/video command & dispatch functions. It can be widely applied in private networks such as public security, electric power, railway, and mining, as well as public networks operated by China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom.

The MINICP equipment adopts a 19-inch, 3U, plug-in card chassis structure. Depending on actual requirements, different quantities and types of tributary service boards can be configured to provide multi-service access. It provides uplink STM-1/STM-4 optical interfaces and supports 1+1 optical board protection. The optical access board types include: STM-1 access boards and STM-4 aggregation boards. Downlink services include Gigabit Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, telephone, data, and various 64K service access.

The MINICP equipment is primarily used for service access, transmission, and aggregation at the access layer of data communication networks. It features complete synchronization and timing functions, a powerful non-blocking cross-connect matrix at both VC12 and 64K levels, and aggregation capabilities for voice, IP, and V24 Ethernet services. By configuring the audio/video command & dispatch module and leveraging the multiple transmission and access methods of MINICP, an audio/video command & dispatch system can be established, suitable for emergency command and other scenarios, meeting the requirements of network edge users for diverse access technologies, diverse transmission services, and diverse network topologies.

The network management platform can adopt the Netguard network management system from Beijing Raytrans Digital Technology Co., Ltd., providing powerful server/client-based, hierarchical management capabilities, including configuration management, fault management, performance management, permission management, and log management.

II. Product Features

Ø Chassis structure adopts 3U, plug-in card design; provides 5 front plug-in slots and 5 rear plug-in slots;

Ø The equipment integrates multiple technologies including SDH transmission, PBX voice switching, and all-optical Ethernet switching;

Ø Key functional modules provide mutual backup: STM-4/1 cross-connect aggregation board, main control board, and power supply board;

Ø Flexible system design; the same equipment can be configured as TM, ADM, or MADM;

Ø Supports multiple networking topologies: point-to-point, chain, ring, star, tree, ring-to-ring cutover, ring intersection, etc.;

Ø Maximum service interface capacity:

n STM-4 interfaces: 4; STM-1 interfaces: 20

n PDH optical interfaces: 16

n E1 interfaces: 168

n FE interfaces: 32; each FE interface supports a maximum bandwidth of 48 VC12s;

GE interfaces: 8; each GE interface supports a maximum bandwidth of 63 VC12s;

n FXS/FXO/Magneto interfaces: 120; EM24 interfaces: 64; V24 interfaces: 120

n Digital trunk interfaces: 8*N (N≤8)

Ø Clock source can be selected from line clock, external clock (2Mbit/s or 2MHz), or free-running oscillation;

Ø Standard model supports a repeaterless transmission distance of 40 kilometers; distances beyond this can be customized;

Ø Provides Ethernet management channels based on DCC, E1, N*64K, and TCP/IP, and supports the SNMP simple network management protocol;

Ø Provides both natural convection cooling and forced fan cooling, with intelligent temperature-controlled fans and fan status detection to ensure stable equipment operation;

Ø The STM4 cross-connect aggregation board provides 4 STM-4 optical interfaces (optical ports can be configured online as STM-1 rate), supports mutual backup between any two STM-4 optical ports, and provides non-blocking cross-connect of 32×32 VC-4s, 2016×2016 VC-12s, and 512×512 64K timeslots on a single board, supporting unidirectional, bidirectional, and broadcast services;

Ø The STM1 cross-connect aggregation board provides 2 STM-1 optical interfaces, supports mutual backup between the two STM-1 optical ports, and provides non-blocking cross-connect of 441×441 VC-12s and 1024×1024 64K timeslots on a single board, supporting unidirectional, bidirectional, and broadcast services;

Ø The IDM MSAP622/155 IP access service supports multiple access methods.

l The G3-EOSEOP board based on EOS or EOPDH provides 4 independent Ethernet aggregation interfaces; in EOP mode, each Ethernet interface group supports remote access of up to 63 single-E1 bridges; in EOS mode, each group supports up to 63 directions of EOS Ethernet service access;

l The G3-2GE board based on EOS provides 2 groups of Gigabit Ethernet service access, each group providing 1 optical and 1 electrical GE interface; bandwidth is N*VC12 (N≤63);

Ø The MSAP622/155 can accommodate a Signaling Gateway Board, used to support signaling protocols such as No.1, No.7, PRI, and V5.2.

Ø The MSAP622/155 can accommodate a PCM Service Access Board, with over 20 types of PCM plug-in cards that can be inserted into the PCM subscriber board, providing voice and data services.

IV. Typical Applications of the Equipment

When the IDM-MINICP equipment forms point-to-point connections with the MSAP155-24, MSTP155-24, and MSTP155-16 equipment, it can use either single-fiber connections or dual-fiber connections to implement 1+1 channel line protection. The equipment transmits services over optical fiber, facilitating user access to nearby fiber-optic networks. Two units connected via a pair of optical fibers can provide E1 services, Ethernet services, V.35 data services, and PCM voice services, enabling point-to-point service aggregation.

Each regular board in the IDM-MINICP centralized equipment can form two ring networks or chain networks, and can be used in conjunction with MSAP155-24 equipment as required to implement complex star or ring network topologies.

A ring network can be formed using one IDM-MINICP centralized equipment unit with multiple MSAP155-24 optical transmission equipment units. The 1+1 channel protection mechanism ensures the real-time and accurate transmission of all data and voice services within the ring network. The optical ports of the IDM MSAP155-24 can be readily connected to nearby communication networks (such as mobile base station SDH networks, China Netcom/China Telecom SDH edge networks, and military SDH transmission networks), enabling it to support various communication services during regional emergency situations.
