The IDM-480 broadband optical terminal is a point-to-point optical transmission device developed with VLSI technology. It implements multiplexing and optical transmission of 16 E1 channel groups and 4 100M wire-speed Ethernet data channels on a compact single-board design, integrating the functions of a PDH optical terminal and a 100M Ethernet media converter. The IDM-480 optical terminal provides a network management interface and user auxiliary channels, with comprehensive alarm monitoring, high integration, low power consumption, stable performance, and ease of use. The IDM-480 broadband optical terminal provides 16 E1 circuit interfaces and 4 10M/100M Ethernet interfaces, which can operate at 10M or 100M, in half-duplex or full-duplex mode.
The IDM-480 broadband optical terminal features complete alarm monitoring functions. Alarm indications include optical signal loss, frame synchronization loss, 1E-3 bit error rate, 1E-6 bit error rate, and interruption of each E1 tributary signal, in addition to Ethernet interface status indication. Besides reporting local alarm status, the remote alarm status can also be displayed on local LEDs via push-button control. The IDM-480 optical terminal supports selectable power supply modes of ~220V AC and -48V DC.

- The optical line rate is 155Mbps, with a default transmission distance of no less than 20km (special requirements must be noted for transmission distances greater than 40km or 60km).

- Comprehensive monitoring and alarm functions. Provides optical signal loss, optical frame synchronization loss, 1E-3 bit error rate alarm, 1E-6 bit error rate alarm, and E1 input signal loss detection. Front panel LEDs display specific alarm status; the device can also output alarm information.
- Supports E1 tributary remote loopback for easy device testing and management.
