Introduction to EoPDH Technology
Ethernet-over-PDH is a set of technologies and standards used to transport local Ethernet frames over established Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH) telecommunication networks. This technology enables operators to fully utilize networks composed of traditional PDH and SDH equipment and provide new Ethernet services. In addition, EoPDH paves the way for network interworking and the gradual transition of operators to Ethernet.
