Cable Networks Present Three Major Investment Opportunities

First, cross-regional network integration; second, cooperation with telecom operators to develop broadband services; third, cross-industry chain integration of content and business resources. The first point aligns with the interests of the central government but runs counter to local interests. Local protectionism will make municipal, provincial, and national network integration more difficult.

The second investment opportunity offers the strongest support for cable network operations, but is subject to industry access restrictions and the balanced regulation of operators by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, resulting in high policy uncertainty.

Only the third point is the easiest to break through. First, under the pressure of Triple Play, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television has relaxed its requirements for the separation of stations and networks, and has even repeatedly mentioned building a new type of station-network relationship over the past six months. Second, for strong cable network operators, leveraging their user advantages, they can fully negotiate equity cooperation with new content and service providers.
