On the afternoon of March 21 (Yue Ming), the mobilization and deployment teleconference for the "Broadband China 2014 Special Action" was held in Beijing today.

Minister of Industry and Information Technology Miao Wei, Vice Minister Shang Bing, Chairman of China Telecom Wang Xiaochu, Chairman of China Unicom Chang Xiaobing, Vice President of China Mobile Li Zhenghua, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Wu Hequan attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Vice Minister Shang Bing, and Minister Miao Wei delivered the mobilization speech. Miao Wei stated that we must vigorously build a broadband power and continuously enhance the role of broadband in driving economic growth.

The meeting clarified the overall objectives of the "Broadband China 2014 Special Action": add FTTH coverage to more than 30 million households, and add 300,000 TD-LTE base stations. Add more than 25 million new fixed broadband Internet users, add 30 million TD-LTE users, add 13,800 administrative villages with broadband access, and have more than 30% of users adopt broadband access products of 8M and above, with the eastern region reaching 40%. Encourage regions with conditions to develop 50M and 100M broadband.
