May 15 news: With the theme of "Wireless Broadband Technology WiMAX," the two-day 2007 Asia-Pacific Industry Summit Forum opened in Taipei on the 14th, gathering over 400 delegates from 17 countries and regions. According to the organizers, nearly 40 exhibitors from around the world participated in the event.

According to digitimes.com, the forum organizers stated that almost all major network equipment manufacturers in Taiwan attended the event, joined by several world-leading telecom equipment suppliers including Alcatel-Lucent, Motorola, and Nortel Networks.

Taiwan plans to issue WiMAX service operation licenses by the end of June this year. Equipment and solutions provided by suppliers will help them secure WiMAX orders from designated operators.

Sources indicate that Taiwanese manufacturers showcased a wide range of WiMAX equipment, with the display focus placed on 802.16e technology, including 802.16e Wave 1 and Wave 2.
