Network Expressway Opens in Chengdu on May 17, 20M Fiber Broadband No Longer Distant
China Telecom Chengdu Branch will launch the "Tianyi Broadband" brand on May 17, "World Telecommunication Day", and simultaneously launch the "Tianyi Broadband Premium Community" service. The "Tianyi Broadband Premium Community" service targets access to 20M fiber broadband for certain newly built mid-to-high-end residential communities in the city, marking the entry of Chengdu households into the "network expressway" era.
Zhang Yong, Deputy General Manager of China Telecom Chengdu Branch, stated yesterday that the company will officially launch the "Tianyi Broadband Premium Community" service on May 17, and homeowners in certain newly built mid-to-high-end residential communities in the city will be the first to enjoy the ultra-fast experience brought by 20M fiber broadband. Zhang Yong stated that with the increasingly abundant provision of network resources and high-tech entering ordinary households, applications such as 1080P high-definition TV and interactive TV have placed higher demands on broadband network access capabilities, and bandwidth of 1-2M is far from sufficient. To this end, China Telecom Chengdu Branch has launched the "Tianyi Broadband Premium Community" service targeting certain newly built mid-to-high-end premium communities in the city, especially those concentrated with high-end business professionals, allowing 20M fiber broadband to first enter these premium communities, and then gradually expand coverage so that 20M fiber broadband can ultimately enter ordinary households.
In the future, China Telecom Chengdu Branch will carry out a series of broadband line upgrades and user experience activities. By then, Tianyi Broadband users will be able to gradually enjoy super bandwidth of 20-50M, and finally complete the bandwidth upgrade to 50-100M across the board.
"To support the promotion of the 'Tianyi Broadband Premium Community', 'fiber-to-the-home replacing copper' will be the most important task for China Telecom Chengdu Branch this year," Zhang Yong told reporters. The withdrawal of copper cables and fiber-to-the-home is the access foundation for fixed-line network transformation, and 20M broadband entering premium communities must rely on fiber-to-the-home. China Telecom Chengdu Branch is currently vigorously promoting fiber access work for networks in the Chengdu area, carrying out fiber-to-the-home transformation in batches in areas originally covered by ADSL with copper-line access, and some premium communities will complete this within this year.
It is understood that fiber broadband will increase network speed by 20 times or more, with better stability. Through fiber broadband, citizens will not only enjoy an ultra-high-speed internet experience, but many aspects of daily life will also undergo tremendous changes as a result.
