April 29 news, the Ministry of Information Industry today released the relevant situation of telecommunications service quality in the first quarter.

Data shows that the user complaint rate in the first quarter of 2007 was 6.8 (complaints per million users), a slight decrease from 6.9 in the previous quarter.

In this quarter, complaints regarding telecommunications service quality accounted for 36.8% of the total complaints, down 1.4 percentage points from the previous quarter. The main issues involved included spam advertising messages and骚扰 from undesirable information, as well as individual enterprises exaggerating their publicity or unilaterally changing service agreements.

Complaints regarding communication quality accounted for 18.8%, up 3.4 percentage points from the previous quarter, among which complaints about inter-network communication quality between China Telecom and China Netcom surged significantly.

Complaints regarding charges and tariffs accounted for 44.4%, down 2.0 percentage points from the previous quarter. The issues involved mainly focused on fraudulent information service charges, unclear pricing in business promotions, and billing system failures caused by system upgrades by telecommunications enterprises in certain regions.
