1. User Requirements

(1). In an environment similar to a mountain amusement park, realize wireless transmission of audio/video alarms from cable cars and other emergency points, as well as wireless transmission of broadcast audio intercom (with additional alarm audio intercom installed below broadcast utility poles).

(2). Due to poor carrier signal coverage in the newly built tourist area, with limited 5G signals, and the need to consider emergency communication requirements in extreme cases where public 5G signals are interrupted, a dedicated private communication network must be built.

(3). In mountain environments, both MESH networks and Wi-Fi have limitations: MESH networks are costly, use high frequencies, and are susceptible to obstruction, while Wi-Fi transmission distance is limited to within 200 meters, making it difficult to meet requirements.

(4). Along the application environment, cable car support towers are installed, with each tower equipped with lighting, surveillance cameras (upstream and downstream), broadcast speakers, etc., all with power and fiber optic connectivity. The spacing between towers is approximately 1 kilometer.

2. Project Analysis

(1). Since the spacing between cable car towers ranges from 1 to 2 kilometers, Wi-Fi HaLow (IDM Wi-Fi HaLow) can be used for wireless transmission. This technology provides 2Mbps bandwidth within a 1.2-kilometer range, capable of supporting 1080P HD image transmission for cable car and similar scenarios. IDM Wi-Fi HaLow series products are priced at around several hundred RMB, facilitating large-scale deployment.

(2). Fiber optic cables can be deployed along power lines between towers. To enhance system reliability, backup fiber optic lines or remote wireless bridges are typically used to form a fiber optic ring network for the tower-based fiber transmission.

(3). The Wi-Fi HaLow wireless bridges on the towers are paired with Wi-Fi HaLow routers on the cable cars. As cable cars pass through each node, automatic handover is performed. A single Wi-Fi HaLow router supports roaming with up to 31 Wi-Fi HaLow APs.

(4). The IDM series audio/video dispatch software is deployed at the central end, providing IP voice broadcast services that support broadcast, multicast, unicast, as well as loop broadcast, scheduled broadcast, and manual insertion functions. Additionally, the IP broadcast system supports alarm intercom and monitoring functions — users can press the alarm button to conduct voice intercom with the central end.

(5). The IDM audio/video dispatch software also enables audio/video intercom with each cable car and management point, and can hold video conferences in conjunction with surveillance cameras.

(6). The IDM audio/video dispatch system supports interworking with wireless trunking intercom systems, and can also interconnect with carrier mobile phones via telephone gateways, achieving broader communication coverage.

3. System Architecture

This solution adopts a fiber optic ring network as the backbone Ethernet transmission channel. Even if a fiber optic cable breaks at a certain point, the system can continue communicating, ensuring network stability.

4. Extended Application of the Solution

This solution is also applicable to scenarios such as river management, farmland management, power line inspection management, and forest farm management, providing efficient audio/video dispatch and broadcast/intercom functions.
