Scope of Application: Emergency operation for traction elevators with machine room

Notes:

A This appendix is for reference only; all units should develop corresponding emergency rescue methods based on actual conditions;

B Members of the emergency rescue team should hold the "Special Equipment Operator Certificate" issued by the competent department of special equipment;

C At least 2 rescue personnel are required;

D Emergency rescue equipment and tools: hand wheel, brake release wrench, elevator landing door key, common hardware tools, pry bar, warning signs, etc.

E Ensure personal safety while conducting rescue operations.

1. Operation Procedure

1.1 Cut off the main power supply of the elevator;

1.2 Check and confirm that the elevator mechanical transmission system (steel wire ropes, drive sheave) is normal;

1.3 Check the governor. If the governor has already been activated, reset it first;

1.4 Confirm that the elevator landing/car doors are in the closed position;

1.5 Confirm the position of the elevator car and counterweight, and select the landing floor where the elevator is to be parked;

1.6 Referring to the hand-cranking instructions from the elevator manufacturer, one maintenance personnel uses the brake release wrench to open the mechanical brake; meanwhile, another maintenance personnel grasps the elevator hand wheel with both hands and, based on the car position indicators in the machine room (e.g., steel wire rope floor markings) and the hand-cranking torque, rotates the hand wheel to park the elevator at the intended landing floor;

1.7 The maintenance personnel releases the brake wrench and closes the brake device to prevent the elevator car from moving;

1.8 After confirming that the elevator is level at the landing floor, the maintenance personnel uses the elevator landing door key to open the landing/car doors;

1.9 If the landing door key cannot open the landing door, the maintenance personnel may open the landing door from the floor above, and, after confirming safety, climb onto the car top to manually open the landing/car doors.
