[Document] Emergency Operation Method for Machine-Room-Less Gearless Traction Elevators
Scope of Application: Emergency operation for machine-room-less gearless traction elevators
Notes:
A This appendix is for reference only; all units should develop corresponding emergency rescue methods based on actual conditions;
B Members of the emergency rescue team should hold the "Special Equipment Operator Certificate" issued by the competent authority for special equipment;
C At least 2 rescue personnel;
D Emergency rescue equipment and tools: elevator landing door key, common hardware tools, traction wire rope clamps, manual chain hoist, wire rope slings and wire rope clips, wrenches, sledgehammers, pry bars, etc.
E Ensure personal safety while performing rescue operations.
0、 General Provisions
0.1 Cut off the main power supply of the elevator;
0.2 Confirm that the elevator car doors are in the closed position;
0.3 Check and confirm that the elevator mechanical transmission system (wire ropes, sheaves) is normal;
0.4 Prepare the mechanical or electrical device for releasing the brake;
0.5 Confirm the position of the elevator car and counterweight, and select the landing floor where the elevator is to be parked;
0.6 Elevator fault conditions and manual operation methods for moving the elevator:
4.6.1 When the safety gear wedges on the descending elevator car are activated, refer to the rescue method: Emergency Rescue Method for Shear Accidents Caused by Abnormal Operation of Traction and Hydraulic Elevators.
4.6.2 When the safety gear wedges have not engaged the guide rails, refer to the rescue method: Emergency Rescue Method for Elevator Brake Failure.
1、 When the safety gear wedges on the ascending elevator car or the counterweight safety gear wedges are activated
1.1 Two maintenance personnel may enter the elevator pit or the top of the elevator car depending on the position of the car;
1.2 Clamp the wire rope clamps onto the counterweight-side wire ropes, and use the car lifting device provided by the elevator manufacturer (or use wire rope slings and wire rope clips to hang the manual chain hoist on the counterweight-side guide rail, and securely attach the chain hoist hook to the wire rope clamps);
1.3 The maintenance personnel pull the chain of the manual chain hoist to move the counterweight upward; the maintenance personnel release the brake, the car moves downward, the safety gear is released and reset. At this time, continue pulling the chain of the manual chain hoist to move the car toward the nearest floor. After confirming leveling, stop pulling the chain, close the brake device, and notify the maintenance personnel outside the landing door to open the elevator landing door/car door;
1.4 After confirming leveling, the maintenance personnel outside the landing door use the elevator landing door key to open the landing door/car door at the floor where the car is parked;
1.5 If the landing door key cannot open the landing door, the maintenance personnel may go to the upper floor to open the landing door, and after confirming safety, climb onto the top of the car and manually open the landing door/car door.
2、 When the safety gear on the descending elevator car is activated
2.1 Two maintenance personnel may enter the top of the elevator car depending on the position of the car;
2.2 Clamp the wire rope clamps onto the car-side wire ropes, and use the car lifting device provided by the elevator manufacturer (or use wire rope slings and wire rope clips to hang the manual chain hoist on the car-side guide rail, and securely attach the chain hoist hook to the wire rope clamps);
2.3 The maintenance personnel pull the chain of the manual chain hoist, the maintenance personnel release the brake, the car moves upward, the safety gear is released and reset. At this time, continue pulling the chain of the manual chain hoist to move the car toward the nearest floor. After confirming leveling, stop pulling the chain, close the brake device, and notify the maintenance personnel outside the landing door to open the elevator landing door/car door;
2.4 After confirming leveling, the maintenance personnel outside the landing door use the elevator landing door key to open the landing door/car door at the floor where the car is parked;
2.5 If the landing door key cannot open the landing door, the maintenance personnel may go to the upper floor to open the landing door, and after confirming safety, climb onto the top of the car and manually open the landing door/car door.
3、 When the safety gear wedges have not been activated
3.1 The maintenance personnel repeatedly release the brake device in a "jog" manner, utilizing the imbalance between the car weight and the counterweight to allow the elevator car to slide slowly until it stops at the leveling position, then close the brake device;
3.2 After confirming leveling, the maintenance personnel outside the landing door use the elevator landing door key to open the landing door/car door at the floor where the car is parked;
3.3 If the landing door key cannot open the landing door, the maintenance personnel may go to the upper floor to open the landing door, and after confirming safety, climb onto the top of the car and manually open the landing door/car door.
