    In today's high-tech era, access control systems have become an extremely important part of security protection systems. In some developed countries, access control systems are developing rapidly at a pace far exceeding other types of security products. The fundamental reason access control systems stand out among numerous security products is that they have changed the passive security methods of previous products such as closed-circuit monitoring and burglar alarms, replacing passive surveillance with active control. By controlling main passages, they greatly prevent criminals from entering through normal channels, and in the event of a crime, they can restrict the criminal's range of activity through control of passage doors to stop crime or reduce losses.
    In recent years, due to their inherent advantages, access control systems have quietly emerged in China, with examples of usage in various types of locations including postal and telecommunications systems, power supply systems, banking systems, military management, residential communities, and resorts. The use of these systems has greatly improved management efficiency and the level of security within managed areas.
    Currently, the more commonly used access control systems mainly include biometric recognition (fingerprint, palm print, iris, etc.) and systems represented by RFID card technology. Although traditional RFID card-based access control systems can achieve some results, in essence, they verify the "object" held by a person rather than verifying the person themselves. As long as the validity of the "object" is confirmed, the person holding it is considered authorized. Therefore, the problem with this method of identifying people by "object" is obvious. First, loss of the "object" will prevent authorized persons from obtaining legitimate verification; second, theft of the "object" will conversely allow unauthorized persons to obtain legitimate verification.
    With the continuous development of biometric technology, people increasingly rely on their own unique characteristics that cannot be replaced by others to prove their identity. Through this access control system, clear restrictions on personnel permissions can be achieved. Whether for internal or external personnel, the scope of free access can be clearly defined through permission settings, and entry and exit records of personnel can be logged for future inquiry, greatly relieving the pressure of personnel management and achieving labor savings while improving security.

    Ø Management Mode
    According to the customer's actual requirements, 2 administrators are set for the system. The access control device can work offline or be managed via network. Under normal power supply conditions (i.e., stable power supply), after the two administrators each correctly press their individual fingerprints on the recognition device, the fingerprint device confirms verification and opens the door for the user. If the entire system loses power, users need not worry about the security of the door, because we also use a first-class safety-rated intelligent electric lock. Its working principle is power-to-open type, so after power failure, the door remains closed. Dual-fingerprint opening becomes ineffective. At this time, the 2 administrators need to use their respective keys to open the 2 electric locks one by one to open the door for the user.

    The standalone fingerprint access control/attendance device adopts a new generation optical fingerprint sensor with more stable performance, capable of adapting to complex operating environments. Utilizing Ethernet networking mode, it can meet networked applications. Adopting the advanced TCP/IP transmission protocol, communication is more stable with higher transmission rates.

Front-end and back-end separated design, completely avoiding security issues of integrated machines
When used as a fingerprint access control device, the standard configuration includes a dedicated back-end control box (placing electric lock control, exit button, door magnet, TCP/IP, RS485, and alarm output in the back-end control box), adopting a front-end/back-end separated security approach. An encrypted unlock signal is output via RS232 to the back-end control box, which is responsible for opening or closing the door lock.
■ Back-end controlled unlocking: even if the front-end is damaged, the door will not be opened
■ Front-end and back-end are one-to-one matched: even if replaced with another front-end, the back-end cannot recognize it, and the door will still not be opened

Simple and Sturdy RJ45 Connection
