Structured cabling is a modular, highly flexible information transmission pathway within a building or between a building complex. It enables voice devices, data devices, switching equipment, and various control devices to connect with information management systems, while also connecting these devices to external communication networks. Development Process: The development of structured cabling is closely related to building automation systems. Traditional cabling, such as telephone and computer LAN systems, was independent of each other. Each system was designed and installed by different manufacturers, and traditional cabling used different cables and different terminal outlets. Moreover, the plugs, outlets, and distribution frames connecting these different cabling systems were incompatible with each other. Office layouts and environmental changes occur frequently, and when office equipment needs to be adjusted or replaced due to new technological developments, the cabling must be replaced.
