FTTH: Advancing Toward the Last Mile
Introduction to FTTH
When discussing FTTH, one must first address fiber optic access. Fiber optic access refers to the use of optical fiber as the transmission medium entirely between the central office and the user. Fiber optic access can be categorized into active optical access and passive optical access. The primary technology of fiber optic subscriber networks is optical wave transmission technology. Currently, multiplexing technologies for optical fiber transmission are developing rapidly, with most already in practical use. Based on the extent to which fiber reaches the user, it can be classified into FTTC, FTTZ, FTTO, FTTF, FTTH, etc.
