I. System Introduction

1.1 Overview

The IDM RG5200 series is a modular converged dispatch integrated gateway developed by Raytrans for special applications. It features powerful signaling and media processing capabilities, integrating various communication interfaces including E1, FXO/FXS, 4G LTE, trunking interfaces/vehicle radios/handheld radios, audio/shortwave/ultrashortwave, E&M interfaces, magneto interfaces, and SIP. It supports dual power supplies and is mainly used in specific industries such as IPCC, SIP dispatch, and unified communications.

1.2 Performance Features

(1). Modular design, 19-inch 3U chassis, supporting up to 17 service plug-in cards;

(2). The main unit provides 7 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, of which 2 ports support link aggregation, handling signaling and media processing, supporting SIP protocol, voice codecs G.711 U-Law and A-Law, G.711 Appendix 1, G.723.1 and G.723.1 Annex A, G.729 Annex A and Annex B, network protocols IP, NAT, ICMP, ARP, HTTP, BOOTP, FTP, TFTP, DHCP, SNMP, Diff-Serv, and G.168 protocol with maximum 128ms delay;

(3). System clock supports local clock, line-recovered clock and other clock modes;

(4). Magneto access board supports 4 magneto telephone accesses, realizing mutual conversion between magneto telephone signaling and SIP signaling, with selectable ordinary magneto interface or 2100Hz carrier magneto interface;

(5). Analog telephone access board supports 10 analog telephone (FXO/FXS) interfaces;

(6). Device supports SNMP-based network management system;

(7). E1 plug-in card provides 8 E1 accesses: 6 G.703 E1 interfaces, 1 transparent E1 interface, and 1 transmission E1 interface;

(8). The device provides 17 service slots, supporting communication transmission/access, signaling conversion and dispatch functions by inserting various expansion function boards. Supported expansion function boards are as follows:

u E1 service access board: supports 8 G.703 E1 interfaces;

u Audio service access board: provides 4 E/M 2-wire/4-wire interfaces;

u LTE access board: supports 1 4G LTE access;

u Radio access board: supports 4 radio service interfaces, enabling shortwave/ultrashortwave radio access to SIP softswitch system;

u Trunking access board: supports 4 trunking service interfaces, enabling trunking radio access to SIP softswitch system;

u Echo cancellation function board: supports 600ms delay, applicable to large-delay scenarios such as satellite transmission;

u Universal service board: provides 4 universal 64K service slots, supporting mixed insertion of various service sub-cards such as FXO/FXS, magneto, E/M 2-wire/4-wire, radio, realizing access of multiple voice services and conversion to SIP;

u Supports party-line voice service, using E1 lines for cascaded transmission.

II. Device Structure

The IDM RG5200 device is a standard 3U, 19-inch chassis. The design is compact, fully utilizing the front panel space for user convenience. The front panel is arranged with Ethernet interfaces, Ethernet network management interface, CPU console interface, power terminals, power switch, and various indicator lights. It also has key switches and DIP switches.

The panel provides 17 universal slots from left to right.

III. Networking Application

Supports access of up to 170 channels of 64K timeslot services, combining voice, audio/video, and LAN communication services into one high-speed data stream, then transmitted bidirectionally through DDN leased lines, microwave, satellite and other communication links. Supports transparent transmission of audio services, data services, and physically isolated Ethernet channel transparent transmission.

Telephone central office interface FXO, telephone set interface FXS, radio interface/PTT hand microphone interface, LTE mobile phone interface, magneto telephone interface, public address broadcast interface, and mixer interface can all be uniformly dispatched at the dispatch console.

4.8 Magneto Interface

The magneto access board supports 4 magneto accesses, completing mutual conversion between magneto telephone signaling and SIP signaling, supporting ordinary magneto interface and 2100Hz carrier magneto interface.

(1). Ordinary Magneto

u Mutual conversion between user voice signals and mainboard signals; conversion between digital signaling and line status, providing identification and status information for network management.

u Can be used as connection interface between magneto telephone sets, between magneto exchanges, and between the two.

(2). 2100Hz Carrier Magneto

u Conversion between 2100Hz carrier signaling and ringing current or 16-timeslot digital signaling, providing identification and status information for network management.

u Used to convert 2100Hz in-band signaling from the audio trunk card of remote PCM equipment into ringing current signal output, and convert the ringing signal received at the local end into 2100Hz in-band signaling for the remote end.

u Or convert local 2100Hz in-band signaling into 16-timeslot digital signaling for the remote end, and convert 16-timeslot digital signaling from remote PCM into 2100Hz output.

4.9 Trunking Interface

u Supports SIP protocol, can join conference rooms of SIP softswitch server;

u Supports PTT intercom signaling, can define validity of E and M signaling, supports selective access of PTT handset and trunking walkie-talkie.

4.10 Radio Interface

u At the operation control end, functions such as listen prohibition, talk prohibition, recording, deletion, and addition can be performed on any radio.

u The way console voice is transmitted to the radio can be PTT control mode, VAD voice activation mode, or PAD console operation mode. Through the console, transmission enable and reception enable can be realized.

u Through the SIP converged dispatch system, commands can be sent over the network to the radio gateway, which forwards (transparently transmits to the radio), and configuration operations such as query, modification, and deletion of radio-related parameters can be performed;

u Can interface with the remote control port of 146 radio via two-wire/four-wire (FSK modulation), using full-duplex asynchronous serial communication at 1.2kbps;

u Provides 2 audio and PTT interfaces, can interconnect with shortwave radio, ultrashortwave radio, and data link, enabling voice calls and control with data link access equipment, satellite communication, and trunking;

u Through the radio gateway, realizes voice intercommunication and data control between radio and SIP converged dispatch system;

u Can control service functions over the network, and query radio current channel, squelch and other status over the network;
