Application of Raytrans MSAP Series in 3G Access Network Evolution
In 2009, for all telecom operators, mobile network expansion was the top priority, and how to ensure rapid base station access and commissioning became the key. Raytrans' MSAP, as a unified service access platform, has achieved large-scale deployment in base station access for various operators. In response to the characteristics of the current stage of mobile network development, SDH or PDH access methods are provided through the existing online MSAP platform or newly added MSAP to address base station expansion issues.

In addition to the advantages of low cost and rapid commissioning, the key advantage of Raytrans' MSAP solution lies in its capability to smoothly evolve with mobile networks toward LTE. According to the main performance targets defined by the 3GPP LTE project: within a 20MHz spectrum bandwidth, it can provide peak rates of 100Mbps downlink and 50Mbps uplink. Based on the existing access infrastructure, MSAP can leverage the industry-unique IP core module to increase the bandwidth of each node to a maximum of 100M, without the need to replace service boards—only service scheduling is required. This ensures smooth upgrade and rapid deployment of the 3G transmission network while greatly protecting the operators' existing investment. In addition, the IP core module can also build a carrier-class ring Ethernet network, providing protection capabilities and OAM management capabilities equivalent to SDH, ensuring network reliability and manageability.
