The IDM-VDA4200 series 4-channel video optical multiplexer uses all-digital uncompressed video technology: the transmitter samples at an 8-bit sampling bit width over a 0 Hz–6.5 MHz video bandwidth and transmits the signal directly over the optical fiber without compression or encoding, and the receiver restores it without distortion to analog video. As a result, the video signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is ≥70 dB (weighted), luminance non-linearity is <3%, differential phase (DP) is <0.7° and differential gain (DG) is <0.7%, and picture quality reaches the broadcast-grade standard; the audio sampling bit width is 16 bit with a sampling frequency of 32 kHz, a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of ≥90 dB and a bandwidth of 20 Hz–20 kHz, delivering CD-grade quality.
