The standard transmission distance of a 1-channel video optical terminal is 20Km, based on single-mode fiber and FC optical port, with wavelengths of 1310nm/1550nm. To determine whether a link is usable, compare the transmit optical power (-15~-8dBm) with the receiver sensitivity (better than -32dBm, 1310nm); the difference between the two is the available optical power margin. In actual engineering, fiber attenuation and connector loss must also be included in the calculation. Fiber mode and interface type also affect configuration: single-mode is the standard configuration, while multi-mode is optional, and must match the optical modules at both ends and the fiber already laid on site. When SC patch cords or cable termination methods are used in the project, the optical interface can be customized at the ordering stage. When the distance exceeds the single-segment transmission capability, the link can be organized segment by segment using lossless video regeneration repeaters.
