The IDM MINI8 is a PCM multiplexer designed for narrowband service access; it consists of a 19-inch 1U chassis, one E1 line interface, and 4 slots plus 1 expansion slot, and is used to multiplex 64 kbit/s services such as telephone, magneto, EM audio and serial port data onto a single E1 line for transmission. This type of integrated service access device is mainly deployed at sites where only one E1 is reserved on the line side while multiple services need to be accessed within the station, such as electric power substations and railway trackside equipment rooms, subscriber sites in military and government private networks, and unattended field equipment rooms at oilfields and mines. During deployment, first determine the line-side E1 interface, then insert FXS/FXO, magneto, EM 2/4-wire and serial port service cards according to the site service list, and then connect to the existing E1 channel to enable services.
