1. Overview
The cement plant's factories and sales network are spread across the country. The construction of the communication network must consider both the interconnection between various enterprises and the networking of sales outlets, requiring both a plant-area private network and the use of carrier private networks.
The penetration of the information industry into traditional industries is a trend in modern enterprise development. Currently, the informatization process of China's building materials industry has just begun. The gradual penetration of the information industry into traditional industries will promote refined and informatized management of traditional industries.
The informatization construction content includes the construction of the group's basic communication network, the construction of the enterprise production dispatch command center, the construction of the enterprise security network, the enterprise OA office system, and the enterprise official website construction.

Main content of group informatization construction:
Establish plant-area management, perimeter protection, intrusion alarm, access control management, and image surveillance with multi-channel information binding processing.
Establish an emergency management mechanism, design contingency plans for various emergency situations, and establish multiple communication means to ensure smooth communication with all subordinate units.
Establish a market information platform to promptly understand market dynamics, process market big data, and seek favorable market opportunities.
Monitor the sales and transportation process to ensure the safety and timeliness of transportation.
Establish the enterprise official website for brand promotion, publicize enterprise advantages, disclose management information, and fully recognize the value accumulation of the brand.
The expected application topology of the group informatization network after completion is as follows:
2. Group Basic Communication Network Construction
The group basic communication network builds the underlying communication channel for information exchange between various subordinate units, different departments, and external customers within the group. Business communication involves information exchange, which is accompanied by information security protection.
To prevent hacker intrusion, protect financial data and other important materials, and prevent malicious remote control damage, enterprise office networks are generally divided into an intranet and an extranet. The extranet connects to the Internet and serves as a channel for collecting market information, brand promotion, and online sales; the intranet is the transmission platform for important data such as enterprise OA office, plant automation control, security alarm control, video surveillance, financial data, and ERP platform.
The extranet and intranet are generally isolated by a firewall, which imposes various rules and restrictions on data input and output to ensure intranet security. However, firewalls can always be breached, posing various hidden risks to devices running on the intranet. The thorough international approach is physical isolation, where the intranet and extranet have no physical connection, and data is exchanged between them via optical discs or secure USB drives. Using a firewall with a higher security level is better but more costly, and is applied to locations that must be externally connected.
Therefore, we recommend configuring one computer dedicated to the extranet in each office, while other computers handle intranet data exclusively. For the sales department, one intranet computer is configured to run the ERP system, while other computers handle extranet sales work.
The plant-area basic communication network construction includes two parts: the office building and the plant-area optical fiber communication network.
(1) In the office building: each office is configured with one extranet and one intranet, ensuring strict isolation between the intranet and extranet to safeguard production and office data security, while also providing access for dispatch and office telephones.
The extranet can use a firewall to ensure defined information entry and exit points between the intranet and extranet.
(2) Plant-area optical fiber communication: use ultra-broadband optical fiber access systems to provide telephone and network access.
Enterprise communication network construction should consider converged communication technology to achieve the converged transmission of fixed administrative telephones, fixed dispatch telephones, mobile handheld telephones, radio intercom stations, GPS location information, image information, LED signage, and broadcast information.
Considering that the production environment has significant motor interference on wireless communication, we primarily use optical fiber communication with video LED display as auxiliary.
Communication between enterprises can lease a 100M IP private network. Telephone communication between enterprises can simulate E1 channels as trunks over the IP network, which is much more cost-effective than leasing E1 channels or optical fiber channels.
The plant area can provide WiFi coverage to achieve WiFi positioning for customers and vehicles entering the plant.
2.1 Enterprise Office Building Optical Fiber Communication Network
Offices need simultaneous access to the enterprise intranet and extranet, as well as administrative and dispatch telephones. Additionally, access control and infrared intrusion detection data must be connected, with bandwidth requirements of 100M or above. Therefore, PON technology is no longer economical. Since PON technology cannot provide physically isolated networks and rarely provides serial communication, it is not suitable for private network applications.
Raytrans has two devices applicable to office private networks: the NTD421 and GTD421. The former provides 2 groups of physically isolated 100M Ethernet ports (4 ports total), configurable as 1 extranet and 3 intranets, plus 1 full-duplex RS422 interface; the latter provides 2 groups of physically isolated 1G Ethernet ports (4 ports total), configurable as 1 extranet and 3 intranets, plus 1 full-duplex RS422 interface.
The former delivers 2 wire-speed 100M Ethernet connections to the office, while the latter delivers 2 wire-speed 1G Ethernet connections to the office.
In the central communication equipment room, all devices connect to the central access platform G3CP. All extranet connections are connected to the extranet switch, then to the Internet via firewall and router; all intranet connections are connected to the intranet broadband switch. All telephone systems are aggregated and connected to the extranet telephone switch and GSM/CDMA gateway. All dispatch telephones can be converged with other communication means and connected to the dispatch console.
The central end of the indoor optical fiber communication network uses a UPS power supply. Important offices can use 6V battery backup power. For some environments, remote POE power feeding can be considered via spare Category 5 cabling.
