The IDM-VDA2000 series 2-channel video optical multiplexer uses all-digital uncompressed video technology: at the transmitter the video signal is sampled with an 8-bit sampling bit width over a 0 Hz~6.5 MHz video bandwidth and transmitted directly over the optical fiber without compression or encoding, and at the receiver it is restored as an analog video output without distortion. The video signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the device reaches ≥70 dB (weighted), with a differential phase (DP) <0.7° and a differential gain (DG) <0.7%. Because the link contains no encoding or decoding stage, it introduces no processing latency or stream jitter caused by compression algorithms, so the synchronization between video and data is maintained and misalignment is unlikely when the surveillance center views the picture while operating on-site equipment. The device is compatible with video formats such as PAL, NTSC and SECAM.
