The IDM-VDA2000 series 2-channel video optical multiplexer is an optical fiber transmission access device between surveillance sites and the surveillance center. Its transmitter and receiver are used in pairs for point-to-point networking, aggregating the two unidirectional video channels at the front end, together with on-site data, audio and Ethernet services, onto a single optical fiber for synchronous transmission. Traditional surveillance sites use coaxial cable to transmit video; when the distance exceeds several hundred meters, a repeater amplifier has to be added, and the signal is also susceptible to electromagnetic interference and ground potential differences. The IDM-VDA2000 series 2-channel video optical multiplexer digitizes the video signal and transmits it over optical fiber, free from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI). It can be used in security surveillance projects with distributed sites and long distances, and is also the front-end access device in a security surveillance optical fiber transmission solution.
